Shaggy Scarf -- To Match Snuggly Hat #1

Use 10mm crochet hook,
Yarn:  2 Skeins of  Snuggly by YarnBee; 1 skein of super saver Red heart med, wt. (4) --

Use these 2 yarns together.

Tip:  Watch out for accidentally dropping either yarn off the hook while working.  This can happen without you noticing it until several stitches or rows so see that both yarns are together at all times.

Ch 23.  Chains on every row must be done loosely, about half inch each stitch.

R1:  Sc on 3rd ch from hook.  Note:  Catch both front and back loop of each stitch.   Note:  This is very important:  From this row until project is completed, make all sc stitches tight
and ch-1 stitches loose about half inch diameter,  this technique will avoid the mistake of inserting hook on sc stitch when it should be inserted on ch-1 space only. *Ch-1, skip 1  ch, sc on next ch.*  Repeat * * across.  There are Approximately  10 to 11 Ch-1 loops  or spaces when row is completed. Turn.

To keep a straight edge, keep track of the total number of ch-1 loops or spaces on each row.
Number of ch-1  loop on each row should be the same all the way through until scarf is completed.

R2:  Ch2, sc on next ch-1 space .  Since you cannot see the stitch because of the shagginess of the yarn, use your finger to feel the hole or the ch-1 space to determine where to insert the hook.
*Ch1, sc on next ch-1 space.*. Repeat * * across, ch1, sc on beginning ch-2. Turn.

How to attach new yarn:  When one of the yarn being used ran out, draw up the new yarn leaving a 6 inch tail, along with the old yarn.  Lay the tails along side the stitches you will be attaching the current row and crochet over these tails to hide them underneath the new stitches.

Repeat R2 until desired length of the scarf is completed.

Ch1 and fasten off leaving 6 inch yarn tail.  Weave in yarn tail.
